USWNT to Play October Friendly at CenturyLink Field, According to Brazil

If the Brazilian FA is right, Seattle will get its first chance to see the USWNT in over a decade.

The official website of the Brazilian FA has revealed the locations of their two friendlies against the USWNT in October, and one of them is Seattle's CenturyLink Field (on October 21). There has been speculation that the team's post-World Cup victory tour would include a Seattle stop, but this is the first semi-official indication of it.

The Reign have planned a press-conference featuring Megan Rapinoe and Hope Solo on Sunday for something related to the USWNT. The timing seems more than simple coincidence.

If true, it would be the first time the USWNT has played a match in the Northwest since a friendly against Ireland in Portland in October of 2012. It would also be the first match in Seattle since the 2002 Gold Cup, when the US Women played in the Mariners' Safeco Field.

Two weeks after the end of the NWSL season it would give Seattle fans one more chance to see Megan Rapinoe and Hope Solo in person before the long league offseason, and would give Seattle its first chance to see Brazil's Marta in a match.

The other October friendly match against Brazil was revealed to be in Orlando four days later.
