USWNT in Seattle Confirmed. Presale for Reign Season Ticket Holders

The Reign took a little time from the festivities at their fan-appreciation day to confirm the details of the October friendly between the US and Brazil.

During a VIP event for season ticket holders on a perfect day at Memorial Stadium, the Reign confirmed what we reported yesterday: the USWNT will be playing a match in Seattle for the first time in 13 years.

The friendly against Brazil will be at CenturyLink Field on October 21, a Wednesday. A midweek match probably isn't ideal — especially for travelers from elsewhere in Cascadia — but it means it's conveniently scheduled between a home Seahawks match on the 18th and the Sounders' last regular season match on the 25th.

In addition the team announced — in a rare club and country coordination — that supporters who put a deposit down for 2016 Reign season tickets will get access to a pre-sale for tickets to the USWNT match along with some additional schwag. Access to make 2016 deposits are already available here. The success of the US at this summer's World Cup has been a huge boost to Reign attendance (and attendance elsewhere in the league) and they're obviously enthusiastic about hitching their wagons as close as possible for as long as possible.

The date that tickets go on sale has not been announced yet, but is expected to be in the next couple of weeks.

In other Reign news from the fan event, Hope Solo was a full or near-full participant in training, so could be ready to return from her injury shortly. Seattle's next match is this Wednesday at home against Houston.
