Reign's Havana Solaun Called Up To U23 WNT Camp

Seattle's rookie winger hasn't played a competitive match since 2014, but is well-regarded enough to be one of just five professional players called into the camp

Just under a year ago, newly drafted attacker Havana Solaun injured her foot during the Reign preseason and became the second consecutive Seattle first round draft pick to miss her entire rookie season due to injury (and I hope you're furiously knocking on wood, since the 2016 draft is tomorrow).

But it turns out that not only is Solaun fit again for club duty, she's fit enough for international duty. And U23 head coach Steve Swanson evidently thinks highly enough of her to bring her back into the national team picture despite her not playing competitively for over a year.

Solaun is one of only five professional players called into the camp, though many more are expected to become professionals at tomorrow's NWSL draft.

The camp will run from January 18th and will culminate in a friendly against the senior Ireland Women's National Team on Monday the 25th.
