Reign Headed to Portland For 2016 Preaseason

Seattle returns to Providence Park to kick off preparation for their fourth season.

The Seattle Reign are starting their 2016 campaign where the 2015 season ended — in the unfriendly confines of the Thorns' Providence Park. Their preseason schedule was released today, and we learned they'll be traveling down in late March to participate in a preseason tournament (which Thorns owner Merritt Paulson hinted at on Twitter last week), then returning for their annual Community Shield match at home against the University of Washington.

The Portland tournament will include the Reign, the Thorns, the Houston Dash, and Oregon State's team and will be a round-robin played over a week. Tickets for the tournament go on sale on February 4th and will include both single-game tickets and passes for the entire tournament.

The Community Shield match is on April 9th and will have free admission, though you still need to get a ticket, which can either be your 2016 season ticket or can be picked up individually on the Reign ticket site.

The regular season schedule has not been released yet, but based on past seasons should appear sometime in early February.

Here's the full preseason schedule:
