Beverly Yanez has re-signed with the Seattle Reign for the 2017 NWSL season. Yanez has been a member of the Reign since 2015 after completing a loan spell with the club in 2014. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal we not disclosed.
Yanez started 18 of 20 Reign games in 2016, finishing with three goals and three assists. Some of you may remember her final goal of the season game in the season finale against the Houston Dash. Her goal in that game kept the Reign perfect against the Dash and completed the comeback after entering halftime down 2-0.
Since 2014, Yanez has appeared in 61 games, 56 of those starts. She has 17 goals and eight assists in her Seattle career.
“I am thrilled to re-sign with the Reign and continue the quest for an NWSL championship, with the same team I started my NWSL career with,” said Yanez. “I am grateful to be a part of the Reign for another season and I will continue to work hard to be the best player I can be for the club.”
She is currently on loan with Melbourne City FC of the Australia W-League with Reign teammates Jess Fishlock and Lauren Barnes. Melbourne City FC had Round 3 off last week but will be back at it in Round 4 as they take on Melbourne Victory this Saturday night at 7:30 pm PT.
