Seattle Reign, Sounders host FIFA 17 launch party

The event is Thursday, September 29 at the U-Village Microsoft Store.

Seattle Reign FC and Seattle Sounders FC players will be taking part in a party to launch FIFA 17 on Thursday, September 29 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Microsoft Store at University Village. Eight Reign players and staff will pair off with eight Sounders players to form teams that will vie for the AEF Cup.

Reign FC participants include Jessica Fishlock, Lauren Barnes, Beverly Yanez, Elli Reed, Andi Tostanoski, Stephanie Lee and Carson Pickett, as well as Head Coach Laura Harvey. For the Sounders, Andreas Ivanschitz, Oniel Fisher, Dylan Remick,  Darwin Jones, Charlie Lyon, Jordan Schweitzer, Zach Mathers and Matt Bersano are set to participate.

The tournament will benefit the Austen Everett Foundation, a longtime Seattle Reign partner, to help bring awareness as September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

There will be opportunities to take photos with and get autographs of players as well as win raffle prizes.

FIFA 16 was the first year that women’s national teams were included for gamers to play as, with 12 teams, including the 2015 World Cup winning United States national team, added to the game. The Seattle Reign’s own Megan Rapinoe is the second highest rated player for FIFA 17 with a score of 91 — second only to Carli Lloyd, who is ranked at 92.

The Microsoft Store at University Village is located at 2624 NE University Village St, Seattle, Washington 98105.
