Ahh, spring. Daylight hangs around a little bit longer into evening, flowers are blooming, allergies abound, and snow — wait, what?
Snow was indeed part of the setting as Reign FC hit the road to Bridgeview, Illinois, where they were scheduled to go up against the Chicago Red Stars tonight before discovering that Mother Nature had other plans.
About 15 minutes before scheduled kickoff, both teams confirmed that inclement weather has made tonight’s match unplayable, and it will be rescheduled to tomorrow afternoon, local Chicago time, Sunday morning at 10 AM for all Reign FC fans here in the greater Puget Sound area.
Tonight's match against @chiredstarsPR has been rescheduled for 10a PT tomorrow - Sunday, April 28.

Over the course of the day, signs were looking encouraging that they would get the match in, but reports from SeatGeek Stadium said otherwise as the teams were in warmups and getting closer to kickoff.
It’s snowing really hard now, and not forecasted to improve soon. I wish this call could’ve been made earlier but in favor of the players it was the right thing to do. #NWSL #mkot #CHIvRFC

Though you can’t fault the efforts of the Red Stars as even the club’s owner, Arnim Whisler, got in on trying to make the field playable.
