We are all missing live soccer right now, but this break in sports presents a fantastic time to dial up the nostalgia. No matter whether they were called Seattle Reign, Reign FC, or now OL Reign, the women’s pro NWSL team in the Puget Sound region has given us plenty of memories.
Join us on Friday, March 27, to re-watch one of the best Cascadia rivalry matches in the club’s history: a 5-0 rout of the Portland Thorns in 2014.

Which match should we start with?
Vote now (highlights below).
This 2014 Reign team — playing their first year at Memorial Stadium — went undefeated until July and finished the regular season at the top of the table, with a 16-2-6 (W-L-T) record. Kim Little was named league MVP, tallying 16 goals and 7 assists.
Up against a Thorns team that won the league in 2013, the match was played in front of a crowd of 5,976 at Memorial Stadium. That was the largest crowd to ever watch women’s pro soccer in Seattle at the time.
Be sure to follow us on Twitter (@rovalks), where we’ll “live”stream the match as well.
Livestream
We will be hitting “play” right at 7:05 on the YouTube video embedded below. Note: the video is without sound for the first 10 seconds, so don’t freak out if you don’t see or hear action right away. Good ol’ NWSL streams.
Lineups
With an hour until kickoff, here is how both teams line up.
Thorns FC
A few of those names might look familiar. This 2014 Thorns squad featured now OL Reign players Steph Catley, Amber Brooks, Allie Long and (on the bench for this match) Michelle Betos.

Seattle Reign
A solid lineup for Reign FC, with the deadly midfield trio of Jess Fishlock, Keelin Winters, and Kim Little. Megan Rapinoe, who had been struggling with a foot injury since the start of the season, is a substitute for today’s match.
#ReignFC Starting XI: Solo; Cox, Barnes, Reed, Fletcher; Winters (c), Fishlock, Little; Kawasumi, Leroux, Goebel #SRFCvPTFC
