OL Reign announced several roster moves on Wednesday ahead of their planned resumption of training next week. Although no further NWSL games are planned at this time, the league is still exploring the possibility of scheduling additional games and the Reign could also play friendlies or scrimmages against other teams during this training period.

Several of the announced moves were expected. Alana Cook’s loan has expired and she returned to PSG, where she was an unused substitute in their loss on penalties to Olympique Lyonnais in the Coupe de France Feminine final last week.

The Reign also confirmed the departure of fullback Adrienne Jordan for UD Granadilla Tenerife in Spain. The team will retain her NWSL rights for next season.

Goalkeeper Carly Nelson and forward Mariah Lee were also released at the end of their short-term contracts after the NWSL Challenge Cup ended.

Defender Machaela George, who had similarly been signed to a short-term contract for the tournament, has now signed a long-term deal with the Reign. George was an undrafted trialist out of Santa Clara University, and despite not making an appearance during the Challenge Cup she impressed enough to be contracted through 2022.

Finally, the team has also extended the contract of Canadian international midfielder Rebecca Quinn. Quinn is now under contract with the Reign for 2021, plus a club option for 2022. Concurrently, the team confirmed that she has been loaned to Vittsjö GIK of the Swedish Damallsvenskan through the end of 2020.

The Reign are anticipated to make additional moves in the coming weeks. Jess Fishlock is still rumored to be going on loan to an FA WSL side, and unsigned college draft pick Sam Hiatt is expected to join the team for training.
