Two more OL Reign players are headed on loan to Sweden for the remainder of the 2020 Damallsvenskan season, with news coming out that Nicole Momiki has joined Linköpings FC and Lauren Barnes is headed to Kristianstads DFF. There they will join Rebecca Quinn, whose loan to Vittsjö GIK was announced earlier this week.
Momiki joins a Linköping side that is currently fourth in the league with 16 points through 10 matches, but which has lost four of their last five after starting the year with four wins and a draw. Their next match is on Sunday against IK Uppsala.
Barnes goes on loan to Kristianstad along with NC Courage defender Hailie Mace. The team has faced a glut of injuries, including to former Reign midfielder Elise Kellond-Knight, but is currently in third place, with 18 points and a seven-game undefeated streak. Kristianstad faces KIF Örebro in their next game.
The Damallsvenskan season is scheduled to run 22 games, with matches every weekend through mid-November. There is no playoff; the top three teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League, while the bottom two are relegated to the Elitettan. All Damallsvenskan matches can be streamed online for a fee at Sport Bladet.
