The 2020 NWSL Fall Series schedule has been unveiled, starting with Sky Blue FC visiting the Washington Spirit on Saturday, Sept. 5. That game will air on CBS at 10 AM PT. OL Reign’s first game is the following weekend, featuring a nationally broadcast rivalry match against the Portland Thorns at Providence Park on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 12:30 PM PT on CBS.
All NWSL teams will play four matches during the Fall Series — two at home and two on the road against the other two teams in their pod. The Reign will be off the first and third weekends, followed by a trip to Rio Tinto Stadium to face the Utah Royals on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 12:30 PM PT. That game will stream on CBS All Access.
OL Reign’s two home games will be on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 5:00 PM against the Portland Thorns on Twitch; and Saturday, Oct. 17 at 5:00 PM against Utah, streaming on CBS All Access. Fans will not be permitted to attend the games in Tacoma.
“I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to put together a schedule that gets our players back out on the pitch and showcases their talent for a global audience, while limiting travel as much as possible and keeping player and staff health and safety our top priority,” said NWSL Commissioner Lisa Baird in a league release. “I want to thank our players, club staff, and our entire ownership group for their collaboration and continued flexibility as we navigate this unique moment in time. I can’t wait to watch this fall series unfold.”
Also announced on Monday is that all Fall Series games will be available to international viewers on Twitch, and US/Canadian viewers will likewise be able to watch a subset of games on the streaming platform. OL Reign unveiled their roster for the Fall Series last week, featuring eight new faces along with 16 players who participated in the Challenge Cup.
