After a wild regular season, anything could happen when the NWSL playoffs kick off on November 7. Your favorite NWSL side, OL Reign, will have a break during week one thanks to a second-place regular-season finish. After sitting in 9th place at the end of June, the Reign turned things around in dramatic fashion and didn’t just make the playoffs, they are now hosting a semifinal match.
OL Reign will face the winner between the Washington Spirit (No. 3 seed) and North Carolina Courage (No. 6 seed) at 12 PM PT on November 14. The semifinal match will air on CBS Sports Network. Tickets are still available. Masks are still required at Cheney Stadium. Fans 12 years and older also need to present a negative COVID test or vaccine proof to enter.
The Reign went 1*-2-0 against the Spirit (*Spirit’s forfeit) and 0-1-1 against the Courage this season (W-L-D). However, three of those five games came before the Reign’s turnaround in July.
The Portland Thorns, who earned the top seed, will face either the Chicago Red Stars (No. 4 seed) or NJ/NY Gotham FC (No. 5 seed). That game will kick off at 2:30 PM PT on November 14. The final will take place in Louisville on November 20, with a 12 PM ET / 9 AM PT kickoff time.
Now let the games begin
