OL Reign were very well represented on the NWSL Team of the Month for September, with four players named to the list by members of the NWSL Media Association. Bethany Balcer, Eugenie Le Sommer, Dzsenifer Marozsan and Sofia Huerta all received honors for their contributions in a month when the Reign went 3-0-1, including a forfeit victory over Washington.
Balcer was also named Player of the Month on the strength of scoring a goal in each of the Reign’s three matches, including two game winners. She currently leads the NWSL Golden Boot race with nine goals. Huerta was second in voting for Player of the Month, having contributed assists on two of Balcer’s goals after making a seamless transition to a fullback position.
