OL Reign were very well represented on the NWSL Team of the Month for September, with four players named to the list by members of the NWSL Media Association. Bethany Balcer, Eugenie Le Sommer, Dzsenifer Marozsan and Sofia Huerta all received honors for their contributions in a month when the Reign went 3-0-1, including a forfeit victory over Washington.

Balcer was also named Player of the Month on the strength of scoring a goal in each of the Reign’s three matches, including two game winners. She currently leads the NWSL Golden Boot race with nine goals. Huerta was second in voting for Player of the Month, having contributed assists on two of Balcer’s goals after making a seamless transition to a fullback position.

The two Reign goals not scored by Balcer in September were netted by Le Sommer, who was also the NWSL Player of the Week following her brace against Orlando. Marozsan assisted both of Le Sommer’s goals against Orlando.

OL Reign’s next opponent, the Chicago Red Stars, had three players named to the Team of the Month – defenders Tierna Davidson and Casey Krueger, and midfielder Morgan Gautrat. OL Reign host the Red Stars on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 4 PM at Cheney Stadium.
