OL Reign forward Nicole Momiki loaned to Linköpings FC

A second chance to make a good first impression in Sweden.

OL Reign v Utah Royals FC

OL Reign announced today that forward Nicole Momiki has been loaned to Swedish Damallsvenskan club Linköpings FC through the end of the calendar year. The Japanese international previously went on loan to Linköpings ahead of the 2020 Fall Series, but suffered a season-ending injury just 18 minutes into her first game in Sweden.

Momiki made three substitute appearances for OL Reign during the 2021 Challenge Cup, but did not feature in any regular season matches before joining the Japan WNT ahead of the Olympics. Japan will face Canada, Great Britain and Chile in the group stage of the games over the next two weeks. Momiki has had a stellar 2021 with the Nadeshiko, netting four goals in her last five appearances.

Momiki, who is currently under contract with OL Reign through the 2022 season, will return to the club ahead of the 2022 NWSL preseason.
