The Seattle Reign have signed their first Discovery Player, pending league approval. Lyndsey Patterson is joining her hometown team for their inaugural season. Lyndsey is a native of Puyallup, WA, and played for the Seattle Sounders Women for five seasons. She has 10 goals in 33 appearances for them. She also played in the WPS for three years for the LA Sol, Philadelphia and Atlanta.

"Being from here I always wanted to play professional soccer and to play in front of my family of friends is a dream come true," said Patterson. "I love the fans here and the great atmosphere they create. It’s an unbelievable feeling to be joining the Reign FC."

Lyndsey was a fan favorite last season for the Sounders Women, with her grit, hustle and heart. She played midfield and forward. She knows how to score with her head, and boot. She knows how to work her way forward and behind the enemy lines. At 5’2"ish, perhaps the opposing team just doesn’t notice the flash running around them and crashing the net. Perhaps, they were underestimating her skill. I am sure that she will be noticed at this level, and have plenty of attention from opposing back lines.

"Lyndsey is the type of player that you'll see on any given day cracking the ball against the wall alone at Starfire Sports Complex,"said general manager Amy Carnell. "It’s that passion, dedication and work ethic that makes her great addition to Reign FC."
