Sounders Women vs Seattle Pacific (Game Thread)

The third game of the preseason sees the Sounders Women facing Seattle Pacific University at 7:00pm.

This will be Mellisa Busque's last game of the preseason for the SSW, as she has been called up to the Canadian National Team's EXCELeration camp. It's a camp designed to help the U-20's make the leap up to the full team. I'm sure she'll do just fine, she's been in top form so far this season. SPU Alum Megan Lindsay will be facing her former team with her usual vigor up top with Busque and Sarah Cambell.

May 1st is the release date for the collegiate players. Eligible players will now be making their way in to Seattle to take their places on the pitch for the Seattle Sounders Women. We have five Huskies (Allie Beahan, Lindsay Elston, Isabel Farrell, Megan Kufeld, Annie Sittauer), three from Texas Tech (Morgan Johnson, Jaelene Hinkle, Janine Beckie), two from UC Berkeley (Genessee Daughetee, Rachel Mercik) and a couple more from various local colleges. That should start changing the face of the Sounders Women to a little more familiar one.

A couple of SPU players to watch for are defender Shayla Page (#11), and midfielders Riley Dopps (#9) and Josie Graybeal (#17). I expect a tough match tonight, and hope to find a bigger crowd there to cheer on the Sounders Women.
