Sounders Women vs Pali Blues - Game Thread

The Pali Blues are in town and the Sounders Women are looking to pull even further ahead of them in the Western Conference race. As it stands the Sounders are four points up from Pali, and the winner of this match could have the Conference Championship hosting on the line.

The Sounders Women held on to beat the professional side, Bay Area Breeze, but it was a battle. Beth Russell scored off a corner early in the match to give the Sounders the slim lead, but the Breeze never slowed down. They pressed for the equalizer the entire game. Mellisa Busque entered the game in the second half, two days after traveling back from Germany with the Canadian National Team. They lost their match against Germany, but Busque was not going to let that happen here. She scored the insurance goal late in the match, and the Sounders were able to take all three points.

Tired legs for the Sounders could be an issue. The Pali Blues have not had a match since their victorious trip to Colorado last weekend. The last time these two teams faced one another, the Sounders were finishing their third road game in five days. The Sounders battled to a 0-0 draw but Pali dominated the game.

Game time is 3:00 and the match will once again be streamed online at USL* Tickets are available at the gate, and this match promises to be a battle of very well matched teams.
