Sounders Women vs Colorado Rapids (game thread)

Tonight the Sounders Women will take on the Colorado Rapids. Kickoff is set for 7:00PM, and the match will be live streamed on USL-Live. It's going to be a warm evening at Starfire, a perfect evening for a bucket of chicken and the beautiful game.

The Sounders Women should send the LA Strikers a gift basket for beating the Pali Blues, not once, but twice. Obviously the Blues are beatable, and the Strikers have their number this year. I am hoping there's game footage, so the Sounders Women can see how it's done. With the Strikers win over the Blues yesterday, the Sounders still hang on to their one point lead at the top of the Western Division Conference.

It's looking likely that it will be a Pali vs Sounders single game match for the Western Conference title and the right to move on to the W-League playoffs. Right now, they are playing for the right to host that one game title match. Every point matters in this race.

Tonight the Sounders Women will take on the Colorado Rapids. Kickoff is set for 7:00PM, and the match will be live streamed on USL-Live. It's going to be a warm evening at Starfire, a perfect evening for a bucket of chicken and the beautiful game. Tickets are available at the gate. There's only one more home match for the Sounders Women this season, so if you've been waiting to go for whatever reason, you're quickly running out of time.

This is the second time this season that the Sounders will be facing the Rapids. The Sounders beat them on their home field 3-2 in windy and hot conditions. The Sounders had sprung out to a 3-0 lead, but conceded two late goals to make the game more interesting. I certainly hope they don't feel the need to let the Rapids in the door again.

The Huskies may be available for the match tonight. They returned from a successful time in Italy, in which they beat all three teams that they faced. One match found the Dawgs on top 7-1 (Izzy Farrell had a had trick). Their final match ended 4-0, with Lindsay Elston scoring a brace.

Even without the Dawgs, the Sounders Women have been able to find the back of the net, and the back line is getting a little better about not conceding silly goals. With Beth Russell in the back, I like their chances. After having a week to recover from their last couple of matches, the ladies in rave green should be in fine form and ready to take three points. But, the Rapids have other ideas, and their previous match shows that the match isn't over until the whistle blows three times.
