Mike Russell,

This is the first meeting of these two teams this season. With the Sounder's win against the LA Strikers they momentarily took first in their division, until the Pali Blues stomped the Colorado Rapids 4-0 on Thursday.

The Blue Heat are 1-2-0 on the young season. They last faced Pali, and lost 6-1 on Sunday. Their one win came against LA. One player to watch for is their Portuguese forward, Ana Borges. She has been the most dangerous in creating scoring chances, and has a nose for goal. Midfielder/Forward Stacey Rodwell and Striker Liz Franco are two fast, aggressiveattackers. When they aren't shooting on goal, they are creating chances for their teammates. As the season progresses, these three will start hitting those shots more frequently. After the pounding they took from Pali, they are going to be hungry to prove that was just a down night. Their other two games were more evenly matched and well played. Tonight should be more like their first two matches.

If the Sounders Women don't tighten up the defensive line, they could be in a bit of trouble tonight. They need to own the midfield and cut Melissa Busque loose up top. She is going to need help to break down a pretty solid backline. They didn't look real organized in the game against the Strikers, which they will need to fix. Especially when they face Pali on Sunday.

Sounder Maddie Schultz has been called into the US U-17 camp, one of only two from this area.

This game will not be streamed, but will be broadcast live on 1150AM KKNW with Jon Billings once again on the mic.
