Four Seattle Reign players named to United States roster

New, comments

Only FC Kansas City will be better represented when the USWNT plays friendlies against Canada and Russia.

Leon Halip

As expected, four Seattle Reign players were named to the United States women's team roster for a trio of upcoming friendlies against Canada (Jan. 31) and Russia (Feb. 8 and 12). FC Kansas City, who had five players named to the roster, was the only NWSL team with more.

Highlighting just how different the Reign's roster looks at this point in the season as compared to last year, none of Hope Solo, Stephanie Cox, Megan Rapinoe or Sydney Leroux began the 2013 NWSL as contributing members of the roster. Solo began the year nursing an injury, Rapinoe was in France with Olympique Lyonnais and neither Cox nor Leroux were on the roster. Barring unforeseen circumstances, all four should be available when the season kicks off on April 12.
