Lamar Neagle weighs in on his favorite Sounders shirt

When it comes to Seattle Sounders fashion, there might not be anyone more equipped to talk about it than Lamar Neagle. Not only has he played in virtually every Sounders jersey from 2009-2018, but he also made a name for himself as one of the more fashion-conscious players on the team.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, Neagle came to the same conclusion as our readers: That the Pitch Black jersey the Sounders wore in 2014-15 was his favorite jersey of all time. The deep black with neon accents was absolutely gorgeous to look at from a distance, and according to Neagle even helped players feel confident.

Neagle also has a ton of positive memories tied to the jersey, as he enjoyed his best-ever season while wearing it in 2014. That included the equalizing goal in the Sounders’ penultimate game which allowed them to complete a two-goal comeback on the road against the LA Galaxy while wearing that shirt.

The Federal Way native also shared some insight in the behind-the-scenes negotiations that go into trading jerseys with opponents and revealed what he’s been doing with the dozens of jerseys he’s acquired over the years.
