Episode 103: The Montero Scale of Sadness

With the Sounders in their final bye week of the season we talk about new security measures being implemented at CenturyLink Field, Fredy Montero's impending move to Sporting Lisbon and transfer rumors. We're also joined by Sounders chief scout Kurt Schmid all the way from Turkey.

Despite the fact that the Seattle Sounders were once again not playing this weekend, there was still plenty to talk about on this week's show. All fans entering CenturyLink Field will now be subjected to a scan by a metal detector wand and we discuss how this might affect things at the stadium and reports of season ticket reps not handling customer concerns very well.

Then there's the news that Fredy Montero is on the verge of being sold to Sporting Lisbon in Portugal and we can haz sadz. We express our feelings and express our concerns over whether or not the Sounders will receive allocation money compensation for the transfer. Of course there's still plenty of time to preview the DC United match and discuss the overblown training ground "bust-up" between Marcus Hahnemann and Eddie Johnson.

We're also joined by Sounders chief scout Kurt Schmid, live from Turkey where he's been hard at work watching the U-20 World Cup. We get his thoughts on the tournament, DeAndre Yedlin's performance, how scouting for an MLS team works and his food truck preferences.

There's also listener question and the latest edition of the Question of the Week, presented by Golazo.
