The YachtCon II is just a couple days away and we’ve pretty much finalized the details. In case you were waiting until you knew more, you no longer have to.
The Basics
Who: There will be two main panels, one featuring the Seattle Reign and the other featuring the Seattle Sounders. Legendary UW women’s coach and Reign broadcaster Lesle Gallimore will be joined by Reign players Haley Kopmeyer and Lindsay Elston on the first panel. The second panel will feature Stefan Frei, Sporting Director Chris Henderson and GM Garth Lagerwey. There will also be a prerecorded interview with Cristian Roldan, who plans to be in attendance.
Where: Queen Anne Beerhall, 203 West Thomas Street, right down the street from Key Arena. We’ll also be streaming it through the Sounder at Heart Facebook page.
When: Doors open at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday and we’ll probably get started very close to 1:30 p.m. The event should wrap up right around 4 p.m. It’s definitely a good idea to get there a bit early, though, as it’s mostly street parking in that area. (Note: The lot immediately next to the venue is monthly permit parking.)
Tickets: Can be purchased online or in person at both Constellation & Co. and Queen Anne Beerhall. They are $5 in advance or $7 at the door.
Why: All proceeds from merchandise, ticket and raffle-ticket sales will be donated to the Seattle Children’s Autism Center. You can also give directly to them here. Posters, stickers and a limited number of ascots will also be available for purchase.
Miscellaneous: The MLS Cup will be in attendance from 2-4 p.m. and will be available for pictures. There will also be a photo booth with all sorts of nautical props, including a four-foot-tall captain’s wheel.
