Cato, LaBauex, Colon, Lund, Asprila joining preseason camp as trialists

Trialists are hit-and-miss, mainly miss. Do you remember Akeem Adams, Mrisho Ngassa, Ever Alvarado, Cillian Sheridan and the dozen of dozen others? But those hits, that finding of gemstones amongst the granite. The list of players who will be at Starfire and/or Arizona is starting to grow.

Philip Lund - Attacking Mid, FC Fyn, 23

Recently confirmed by Adrian Hanauer that he will be in camp.

Jose David Velasquez Colon - Centerback, Victoria (HON), 23

There is no indication that the earlier rumors of his trial are wrong.

Cordell Cato - Mid/Forward, Sounders, 20

You know who he is, but it looks like he will be competing for a spot.

Cordell Cato will be among the players receiving their physical at Sounders training, a source tells me.

Ross LeBauex - Attacking Mid, Rapids, 24

I'm hearing that Ross LaBaeux, waived by the Colorado Rapids in June 2012, will be in Seattle Sounders FC training camp that starts Monday.

LeBauex spent the last three seasons with the Colorado Rapids almost entirely as a substitute and depth player. His largest amount of playing time came in 2011 when he earned four starts in CCL play.

Mane Asprilla - Left Mid, UANL Tigres, 21

Asprilla played in the Group Stage of the current CCL with Tauro, but is currently a UANL Tigres Reserves player. He was on the Panama pre-Olympics Qualifying roster.
