Will Bates Officially a Sounder, Andrew Duran Waived

With these two moves Seattle Sounders FC is still at 29 on the roster leaving them space to make a future signing.

Yesterday Will Bates announced via Twitter that he had signed with Seattle Sounders FC. Today the final paper work went through and he is officially a member of the club. Bates is a forward out of Virginia who had 46 goals and 10 assists with the storied program. He ended his stay at UVA in the top ten list for goals and total points.

"Will is dangerous in the box and always plays hard," said Sounders FC Sporting Director Chris Henderson via team release. "He can score with both feet and with his head. He provides us with depth at forward and we are excited to have him in Seattle."

In order to leave space on the roster for potential future moves the Sounders waived defender Andrew Duran. Duran missed time due to injury after being loaned to the Atlanta Silverbacks.

The move adds more depth to the forward spot to a team that now has five pure forwards and a handful of a attacking mids that can slide up top.
