Seattle's young academy is of course highlighted by current Home Grown Player DeAndre Yedlin and the breakout season by Jordan Morris. Those are not the only ones that Top Drawer (Part 1, Part 2) sees as having potential futures as pros. The list is long and leaves off three others that have various reasons for being left off the list.

Mentioned as prospects

  • Sean Okoli
  • Troy Peterson
  • Darwin Jones
  • Aaron Kovar
  • Jordan Morris
Henry Wingo, Cody Crook and Mark Matula were all mentioned due to playing up with the Seattle Sounders Reserve squad. All are 1995 born players, but Matula graduates this year while Crook and Wingo are back with the U-18s for the next year.

Michael Gallagher and Ian Lange were not mentioned. Both are centerbacks, a position that generally develops later, but their time on the Sounders U23s and likely starting status at the University of Washington should help their evaluation as future pros for next year's rankings. Nick Palodichuk needs to do one thing to be in the rankings - stay healthy. Then Portland and Seattle can argue where he will play. Nick is currently with the Timbers U23s, but played in the Sounders Academy prior to college as well as his time up with the US youth teams.
