Portuguese site O Jogo is saying that all parties involved in the Fredy Montero transfer saga have agreed to the deal and only a medical clearance is needed for the deal to be final. The price starts with Seattle Sounders FC (and MLS) getting 2.5 Million Euros (3.25M $US), but depending on meeting certain performance clauses during the contract could be worth as much as 4 Million Euros (5.2M $US). An interesting, new sidenote is that Millonarios would receive 250,000 Euros.
Sporting CP of Lisbon uses 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 variants and recently acquired Salim Cisse from a rival club to be their high forward and thoughts on Sporting message boards are that Montero would need to be more of a creator than high striker in their system.
How much allocation money Sounders FC would receive for the deal is unlikely to be officially revealed, but this deal looks to lead to some allocation money coming Seattle's way.
