UPDATE: Hagen confirmed the Seattle Sounders' interest to a Norwegian paper. But it sounds like Odd would be looking for a transfer fee of somewhere between $325,000 and $480,000.
It seems like a long time since Seattle Sounders FC is linked to a player coming to the club, at least not one that hasn't already played in Rave Green. Today a Norwegian reporter tweeted that Steffen Hagen of Odds BK is being pursued by the Sounders.
Steffen Hagen er ønsket av MLS-klubben Seattle Sounders. Odd-kapteinen er fristet. #2fx

@Mar8David @MLSTransfers Seattle wants Odd-captain Steffen Hagen. Contact between clubs. Player tempted.

Haggen splits time between centerback and right back with Odds BK while captaining the side and basically never getting hurt. While Seattle has a lot of players at centerback, there is no standout who looks likely to pair with recent acquisition Chad Marshall. A player that has the skills to play wide and the strength to play in the middle may be just that.
Odd finished 7th in the last Tippeligaen and does not necessarily need to make a deal, particularly one that loses a long time contributor (8 of his 10 pro seasons) who turns 28 on MLS Opening Day. Seattle clearly needs a Scandinavian player.
