DeAndre Yedlin earns UK work permit, joining Tottenham in January

Seattle's time with DeAndre Yedlin is over. The Sounders first ever Homegrown Player was granted a work permit to join Tottenham Hotspur within the next transfer window. Spurs will pay Seattle Sounders FC a reported 2.75 million pounds (4.3 million US at today's rate).

According to the criteria given to all clubs in the football pyramid, a player who is not from the United Kingdom or a British overseas territory, a British crown dependency or a member of the European Economic Area, must obtain a Governing Body Endorsement under Tier 2 of the United Kingdom's five-tier immigration scheme. - The Mirror

Yedlin will be eligible to join Tottenham's roster as early as January 1st. The MLS transfer window does not open for several more weeks, but the clear target will be for a new right back.

DeAndre recently resumed fitness work and there is a demand to fit into the squad quickly as they have a flood of games before the end of January.
