The highly fluid transfer of DeAndre Yedlin from Seattle Sounders FC to another club is reportedly done. According to the linked report Yedlin will be sold to AS Roma for five million US dollars and then loaned back to Seattle for at least the rest of the 2014 season. At that point Roma will decide what to do for the next year. DeAndre could not play for Roma as they will already have signed their non-EU player for their 2014-15 season.
If this report is true Yedlin will be tied for the third highest transfer from MLS to another league.
It's a win-win for Seattle as they get to keep the native son as they make a run at the Supporters' Shield, US Open Cup and MLS Cup. They would also gain maximum allocation money and a couple million to spend on other soccer related activities.
There is even a chance that AS Roma decides to leave Yedlin here for another full season.
Now, this is coming from a site that is notorious for playing the rumors game to get views. This is far from official. Official would mean that the teams and MLS would have an announcement, and considering the level of attention showered on DeAndre since his World Cup performance MLS will get the maximum traction from a transfer.
Does this mean that the saga is nearly over? Maybe. It could also mean that GianLuca's source thinks so, but he's not right.
