Montreal Impact get Panamanian midfielder Jeanine, beating out Sounders and Saprissa

Sounders lose out on Jeanine as Montreal get their man.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Seattle has been tied with multiple Panamanian players the past few seasons but most recently to Pedro Jeanine of San Francisco FC in Panama. The midfield was tied to the Rave Green in August as signing with the club in the winter and the fire was fueled by Jeanine being at Roberto Brown's, Roman Torres' agent, combine.

The rumors sparked up a couple days ago with a tweet tying the Sounders and Jeanine and rumors of a potential contract got underway. The 22, almost 23 year old, CM fits the mold of a Garth Lagerwey signing but it appears that the Montreal Impact and have beaten us to him.

According to reports coming out of Panama both Saprissa and the Sounders were in on the San Francisco midfielder but a better offer from the Quebec side was picked by the player and the club. While there's been no announcement from the Impact, Mount Royal Soccer and Roberto Brown have been suggesting this a done deal for the past few days. This does seem to close the door on the midfielder coming to Pacific Northwest and an end to multiple years of rumors.
