As the Seattle Sounders need to get younger, faster and more technical, particularly on the wing, rumors from Ecuador rise regarding a 22-year-old outside mid. Marco Posligua spent the last couple years bouncing around his home nation's pro leagues, but is now telling Studio Futbol that he will probably be a Sounder.
His flair play is reminiscent of previous outside prospects Thomas and Mario Martinez. Still under-23 the winger put in 430 minutes in the top flight for Deportivo Cuenca (9th in the table). Posligua has yet to score at that level, but did net a few goals in Ecuador's B-flight.
Seattle's roster currently sits at 22 under contract players, with only two of those being pure wingers (Ivanschitz, Kovar). Several of the forwards have experience on the wing as well as up top.
If Posligua's signing is finalized that would be the final open International Slot. Sounders FC could trade for another or manage to get a green card for one of their current players.
