While Paraguayan side Cerro Porteño is interested in Seattle Sounders Designated Player Nelson Haedo Valdez, it is unlikely he is transferring in the near future. The 32-year-old Valdez is part of the Paraguay National Team, and of course clubs in his homeland would appreciate the lure of one of their greats.
A fan account tweeted that Cerro Porteño is interested.

But, Hoy.com notes that previous conversations between Cerro and Nelson indicated his price is too great. They also say that Nelson wants to stay playing abroad for a while longer.
For the foreseeable future the Sounders will have three DP forwards. This will continue to fuel the speculation that the team moves to a 4-3-3. That formation also suits the talents they have in central midfield and the wide positions.
Valdez is likely to remain a Sounder for another year, as well as feature for Paraguay in the 2016 Copa America.
