Pursuing Nicolás Lodeiro is in some ways reminiscent of the previous Seattle Sounders transfer chases of Obafemi Martins and Román Torres. But the end is in sight. Lodeiro and former Uruguay National Team and Nacional teammate Álvaro Fernández will fly to Seattle together on Sunday.

This is according to a report found by reader Joe Strummer and translated by ballardiana.

Lodeiro would be on a three-and-a-half-year contract with a one-year team option. He would be with the Sounders through the 2019 season at a minimum, including during the next World Cup. Boca Juniors and the Sounders have agreed on a $6 million transfer fee.

Both Fernández and Lodeiro played for Uruguay at the 2010 World Cup where they placed fourth. Álvaro then joined the Sounders. Nicolás joined Ajax after the World Cup in South Africa. Both were on Nacional in Uruguay in 2009.

While the contracts are not yet completed, it seems most of the particulars are in agreement between all parties. There is a transfer fee, a flight plan and length of service for Lodeiro. All that's left are details regarding income and other non-salary compensation, or at least that information has yet to leak.
