Nicolas Lodeiro greeted by Garth Lagerwey at SeaTac airport

Accompanied by some of the digital crew and club translator Gene Rodriguez, the Sounders President of Soccer welcomed the Uruguayan to Seattle.

The rumored flight turned out to be accurate as Seattle Sounders President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey met Nicolás Lodeiro at SeaTac. The Uruguay National Team player has long been linked to the Sounders, and it seems the formal announcement could be just hours away.

Lodeiro is joining a team that needs an injection of talent and wins. Lagerwey, as he's done with other big signings, met the former Boca Juniors player as the first friendly face in his new town. It is a busy day for Lagerwey, as Sigi Schmid is no longer the Head Coach.

Lagerwey is also likely finalizing the contract for Alvaro Fernandez and may be bringing in a TAM player.
