If the Seattle Sounders are chasing Derlis Gonzalez it will need to happen from afar. The Paraguay and Dynamo Kiev winger-forward is currently about 5300 miles away from CenturyLink Field.
Gonzalez is not on the Paraguay roster that is playing Mexico on Saturday night (5:30 PM, FS1). Paraguay is going with “youth and domestic players”. That may be a good indicator of how deep La Albirroja is — a 23-year-old isn’t a young player.
In fact, Gonzalez reported to Dynamo Kyiv’s training camp yesterday, and he took the beep test. Kiev is currently training in Austria as they prepare for their 2017-18 season.
Kiev’s next preseason match is on June 30 at 10 AM against Austrian side WSG Swarovski Wattens. Those on #DerlisWatch may want to pay particular attention to that game.
Their first competitive match is July 15 against Ukraine powerhouse Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukraine Super Cup. The league season starts that day, as well.
