The Derlis Gonzalez transfer saga appears to be nearing an end, and all indications are that it will end with him joining the Seattle Sounders sometime next week. Paraguayan journalist Wilson Gonzalez joined Seattle-based Spanish-language radio show Somos Sounders on Saturday and suggested the deal was about 90 percent done with Dynamo Kiev had basically agreeing to transfer terms and only small details left to be worked out with the player.
Here’s now Somos Sounders host Niko Moreno described their conversation:

One of the bigger holdups in the move appears to be Dynamo Kiev’s Champions League qualifier against Young Boys. Dynamo leads 3-1 after the first leg with the second leg in Bern, Switzerland next Wednesday. Gonzalez did not play in Saturday’s league match after starting in the first leg of the qualifier.
The timing shouldn’t be a huge issue, though, as the MLS transfer window remains open until Aug. 9.
The Sounders are also expected to sign at least one other player before the window closes, with La Liga veteran Victor Rodriguez closely linked.
