The Eredivisie veteran left Vitesse for Seattle Sounders FC. He is the club’s first use of Targeted Allocation money at a fullback spot. The right back will wear no. 18 and is first available against D.C. United on July 19.
Leerdam is 27. He now joins his third professional side after playing for Feyenoord for his first five seasons, then Vitesse and now the Sounders. He has experience in both the Europa League (15/16, 13/14, 11/12, 10/11, 08/09) and Champions League (12/13). He won the KNVB Cup with Vitesse last season.
