Followers of Raúl Ruidíaz’s Instagram account briefly saw a story tonight with some images from a nondescript hotel. Well, nondescript to most anyway. If you happen to live in the area, you can figure out it’s in downtown Bellevue. It’s quite the journey to go from Sochi, Russia where Peru beat Australia 2-0 on Tuesday to the Seattle suburb today, but that’s apparently exactly what Ruidiaz did.
The whole Peru team dispersed quickly after their final game, scattering to their clubs.

While there is no indication that the formalities of a contract with the Seattle Sounders are completed, things certainly are close enough that he is in the region and deleted the Instagram Story once people started to figure out where he was.
One could easily surmise that a possible reason that he’s in town is to take a physical and sign a contract. Or maybe he’s just taking in the sights of Bellevue, like the Bellevue Wine Walk Thursday night, or maybe he’s going to catch the rivalry game this weekend.
