The MLS transfer window closes on Tuesday, but the Seattle Sounders may be close to finalizing a deal to bring in a new centerback. Reports out of Ecuador have said Barcelona SC is considering a transfer offer from a MLS team for 24-year-old Xavier Arreaga, with one identifying the Sounders as the team.
El equipo que presentó la oferta formal por Xavier Arreaga es Seatlle Sounders de la MLS. El club decidirá en las próximas horas si acepta o no la misma. El ídolo tiene el 78% del pase del jugador. ¿Qué debe hacer BSC?

While it’s hard to say just how much credence this rumor deserves, Arreaga does seem to fit the profile of the kind of player the Sounders are likely targeting. His estimated transfer value is about $1 million according to Transfermarkt, which suggests he would likely be a TAM player and he’s young enough that he’s still got some upside.
Arreaga is 6 feet tall and has played almost exclusively as a centerback since establishing himself as a regular starter late in 2016. In that time, he’s scored eight goals in first-division appearances and has one in Copa Libertadores this year. He also has a cap with Ecuador that came in 2018.
