The offseason got off to a rather slow start for the Seattle Sounders but things seem to be heating up as there appears to be movement with two separate players. The other day a rumor surfaced that the Sounders were linked with Brazilian defensive midfielder Gregore. This morning news has come out of Brazil that it appears Gregore’s club team, EC Bahia, has rejected an offer from the Sounders for the midfielder.

Garth Lagerwey and the Sounders are not afraid to walk away from a transfer target if their valuation of the player doesn’t align. We’ve seen that happen countless times over the years. They’re also not afraid of negotiations. This is by no means the end of the road, but the Sounders could be moving onto other targets if Bahia is asking too much for Gregore.
One of those targets could be Polish defensive midfielder Jacek Góralski from the Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad. Reports from Poland suggest that Góralski’s contract runs out this summer and could be on the move this winter. In the report a handful of names are mentioned, including the Sounders. There would likely have to be some sort of transfer fee involved if the Sounders were to acquire him this winter.
Góralski is an out and out defensive midfielder destroyer with a ton of experience. He’s just 27 and has made more than 250 first-team appearances. He also has 13 caps for the Polish National Team since 2016, some of which have come recently during Poland’s EURO qualification efforts.
