Jordan Morris’ loan to Swansea City appears to be all but complete. The deal is close enough to being finalized that Swansea City manager Steve Cooper told local media that Morris is already in Wales and is scheduled to complete his physical on Friday.
“It’s taking a little longer than we’d have liked, basically down to logistics more than anything else, but it’s one that when it finally gets done we’ll be really pleased,” Cooper said. “A little bit cautious at the moment because as you know, until they sign and you get them out training and playing, it’s never quite done, but it’s close to being done and it’ll be a good one when it is.”
While it might be cutting it a little too close for Morris to be ready in time for Swansea City’s FA Cup match on Saturday, all of this bodes well for the Seattle native having plenty of opportunity to settle in. Swansea still have 22 matches remaining in their Championship campaign and are in strong position to gain promotion.
As things currently stand, Swansea is in the second of two automatic promotion spots, two points clear of third place and seven points behind first-place Norwich City. If Swansea finish anywhere from 3-6, they’d need to compete in a playoff for the final promotion spot.
