Sounders Reserves at Orlando City SC - Gamethread

New, comments

Seattle's struggling Reserve League side faces off with USL PRO power Orlando City SC at the Citrus Bowl tonight at 4:30 PM.

Getting paired up against the best team in USL PRO is not going to help Seattle Sounders FC Reserves in their quest to win a title. It may help the players develop as well as helping Orlando City test their market. Expect tonight to have a large crowd due to the appeal of an MLS team coming to town, even if it is just the Reserves.

For Seattle this is a chance for a couple players to show that with the likely absences of Evans and Johnson, as well as possible injuries, they should be in the 18 against Houston. Eriq Zavaleta, Andy Rose, Marc Burch and David Estrada are all players that could pop into the XI with good performances in another Reserve match.

OCSC is an affiliate with Sporting KC. That meant that last time Dom Dwyer put up good numbers against Seattle when they faced off at Cheney Stadium. None of the current on-loan players are likely to lead the squad, but the Lions have a roster with a few other MLS vets. They've already clinched a Playoff berth, but still could challenge for the regular season title.

The game will be streamed on USL Live in case you wanted to watch some more Rave Green action this weekend. This is Seattle's second trip to the Sunshine State this year.

That bench is heavy with Academy kids. Crook is probably Cody Crook the defender.
