Sounders Academy product Sean Okoli says he's close to signing

Wake Forest forward doesn't specify whether or not it's with the Sounders.

UPDATE: Liviu Bird is reporting that the Sounders have offered Okoli a three-year deal.

The Seattle Sounders may be close to signing their second-ever Homegrown Player. At least that's one possible interpretation from a Tweet from Sounders Academy product and current Wake Forest forward Sean Okoli.

It would appear as though Okoli feels as though he's proven all he can at the collegiate level and he has been rumored to be looking to leave Wake Forest rather than return to school, whether it be to try his luck in Europe or to sign with the Sounders. Over the past two seasons, Okoli has scored 20 goals and registered six assists in 37 appearances, averaging .57 goals per 90 minutes.

Throughout his time in college, Okoli has maintained his ties to the Sounders, at times training with the senior team. He also spent part of last summer with the Sounders U23 team, appearing in four games, playing 315 minutes and scoring a pair of goals.
