Sounders Academy pulls in year end awards

Victor Mansaray (U16) and Jacob Hauser-Ramsey (U18) earn individual recognition.

After the season's championship matches the USSDA named individual and team award winners at the three current Academy levels. Two Sounders Academy players made the West XI at their age group.

Victor Mansaray who led the Seattle U16s in scoring 18 goals in the regular season was part of the West XI for the U16s. He was 9th in the age group and 6th in the West at his age, but only one of three forwards in the XI. He beat out four players with more goals to be recognized as one of the top forwards at his age in the West.

The U18s had a high-powered offense, and yet it was Jacob Hauser-Ramsey that earned his spot in the West XI at the U18 level. The large centerback led a backline that dealt with injuries to one of the other CBs and a rightback but made the necessary adjustments and had shutouts in four of their final seven matches on the season.

Seattle was also recognized across the board for both the West's best regular home stadium and most improved throughout all levels of the Academy.
