In the sloppiest of Seattle Sounders 2's early season matches, S2 earned their winner in the 88th minute. Giuliano Frano's winning goal from a late run changed a game that looked destined for the tie. Pablo Rossi scored Seattle's opener when he slammed in a penalty that Andy Craven earned.

Harrison Delridge scored Portland Timbers 2's only goal.

In the first half S2 found the chances but not the net. Craven, Aaron Long and Darwin Jones all found themselves in scoring positions but did not finish. Seattle struggled to maintain possession against a T2 side that offered more pressure.
