Jordan Morris' name has become well known among the followers of the United States national team. Now, he appears poised to be a known to an even wider audience. The Seattle Sounders Academy product and current Stanford sophomore will start for the United States against none other than arch rival Mexico in Thursday's friendly.

This will be Morris' third cap, but his first extended run out with the senior national team. His two previous appearances were as a late substitute. Morris is the first collegiate player to get a national team cap during the MLS era, with current Sounders assistant coach Ante Razov being the last amateur to play for the senior USMNT back in the 1995.
