It did not even take two full minutes of soccer for Sounders 2 to grab control of this one. Oalex Anderson returned to Starfire from his time with the St. Vincent's National Team and struck gold easily slotting a ball from Sergio Mota past the AZ keeper. S2 continued their dominance when Anderson forced a turnover and beat Carl Woszczynski (who was a great sport responding to ECS) with ease.
The Sounders never looked challenged in this one but injuries were a worrying force. Anderson was unable to get his hat trick in this one after he got a small kick in the back of the heel that he could not get up from. He was stretchered and then carted off, unable to put any weight on his foot. His substitute Aaron Long found the back of the net minutes later getting a hat trick combo as the sub. His goal came on a nice header from an Aaron Kovar free kick.
That was not the last goal or injury, with Pablo Rossi smashing a shot from the top right corner of the box from a perfectly weighted through ball from Sergio. Rossi's goal locked up the 4-0 win but his night did not end how he wanted after he went down in the 77th. Pablito was stretchered as well but did not leave the field, limping and trying to celebrate with a big knee brace post game.
Tyler Miller made his S2 debut and was only required to make two easy saves as Arizona never really tested the new netminder.
The win pushed the Sounders back tied for 1st in the USL Western Conference as the season starts to wind down. They ended up splitting the season series with Arizona United, each side winning at home.
