Day after scoring two in debut, S2 prospect has surgery

Myron Samuel will apparently miss 10 weeks after suffering leg injury.

Myron Samuel had a dream debut with Sounders 2. The 22-year-old Saint Vincent and Grenadines international scored two goals and added an assist to lead S2 to a much needed win over the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Wednesday. After spending his entire career up until now in relative soccer backwoods, this was his breakout moment.

Unfortunately, it appears that will likely be his final appearance in rave green until at least next season.

S2 only has five matches remaining in their regular season and although the USL playoffs won't be finished until mid October, Samuel would have to recover well ahead of schedule in order to make another appearance this year.

How Samuel suffered the injury was not immediately clear. Samuel, who entered as a second-half substitute, finished out the game and actually scored his second goal in the 86th minute. There's also been no official word, yet, from the team.
