Puget Sound producing another potential USMNT goalkeeper

New, 6 comments

S2 backup and Academy keeper Trey Muse is the lone Sounder heading to Trnava for the Slovakia Cup.

One Sounder Academy product, Trey Muse, made the final cut for the USMNT U18s roster for the Slovakia Cup. Muse, one of the two academy keepers made available for S2, is one of the three keepers called up for the eight team tournament in Trnava April 24-28. The USA is paired with hosts Slovakia, Hungary, and Belarus in the group stage.

The US U18s last match was a friendly in November against the South Florida Surf where Muse was the starting keeper and subbed off at the half for Leonardo Lopez, not on this roster. He held a shutout in his 45 minutes of work.

Muse was one of the three academy players that attended U18s camp in Bradenton, FL back in January along with Jake Morris and Stirling Russell, neither of which will join him in Slovakia.

The academy keeper has been the backup for three of S2s matches this season but has yet to see a minute on the pitch with Bryan Meredith and Tyler Miller sharing starts.
